Q1. Does AluDisc Pro come with a metal ring?
Yes. AluDisc Pro includes one metal ring for use with your smartphone or phone case. If you would like to use AluDisc Pro with additional devices or cases, extra metal rings are available separately.
Q2. Do I need to use the metal ring with my phone?
For most smartphones, yes. Use the included metal ring to create a secure magnetic connection between your phone and AluDisc Pro.
Q3. Where should I place the metal ring?
Attach the metal ring to your phone or compatible protective case according to the installation instructions. For the strongest magnetic hold, make sure the ring is properly aligned with the magnetic mount.
Q4. Will the metal ring affect Apple MagSafe charging?
In our lab testing, the metal ring did not prevent charging with an original Apple MagSafe Charger. Charging performance may vary depending on the phone model, case material, case thickness, ring placement, and charger.
Q5. What types of phone cases work best with AluDisc Pro?
For best results, we recommend using a phone case no thicker than 0.098 in (2.5 mm). In general, thinner cases provide stronger magnetic adhesion. Performance may vary depending on the material, surface, and thickness of the case.
Q6. Will the metal ring scratch my phone?
No. The metal ring uses a 3M adhesive layer, so the adhesive surface—not the metal itself—comes into contact with your phone or case.
Q7. Will the metal ring affect my phone’s normal operation?
No. The included ring is made of non-magnetic metal and is designed not to interfere with normal phone operation.
